How the Scilla Chocs began:
Debbie and Craig Purdy started Scilla Chocolates Ltd, a  hand made Belgian styled Chocolaterie, in 2002.
Debbie was taught the art of chocolate making by Maria Heylen, a Belgian Chocolate maker from Scilla, a suburb in Antwerp, Belgium.
Scilla Chocolates is a boutique business and we strive to be the leading supplier to exclusive resorts, restaurants and corporate entities. We customise packages for weddings and special occasions and can send special gifts to friends and family overseas or within New Zealand .
 
In October 2011, Debbie and Craig purchased Bouquet Floral Studio bringing Scilla Chocolates into Whakatane, providing a retail outlet making it easy  for discerning chocolate lovers to enjoy  their favourite Scilla Chocolates.
Bouquet Floral Studio has been established for over 50 years and is renowned in the heart of Whakatane.
Our three fantastically creative florists Joyann, Karen and Fleur have more than 30 years experience between them and create imaginative floral masterpieces with an eye for exquisite detail, perfect for every occasion.  We buy most of our flowers directly from New Zealand growers and our emphasis is on providing quality, long-lasting blooms.  We can send flowers nationally and internationally through the Interflora network of florists which we are proud to be associated with.
